Since I started surfing, times have changed. Women are charging. Line-ups are more equal. But still, let’s be honest, every day, people are made to feel uncomfortable in the line-up for their gender, colour, looks and ability.
Girl or boy. Gay or straight. Black or white. Rich or poor. Fat or skinny. Able bodied or not. Whatever, or whoever, you are, we all belong in the ocean. Because that’s exactly where everything else is stripped away and none of those things matter.
My latest feature on @surfgirlmag premium encurages everyone to paddle out and enjoy the gifts of the sea. We all deserve to feel the joy of the waves. You DO belong in the surf. Whoever you are.
